Description
This CLT holiday home, currently under construction in Cserszegtomaj, was designed for a young couple seeking both a close connection to nature and a thoughtfully composed, compact living space. Nestled in a forested setting on the western edge of the Balaton Uplands, the house embodies a quiet presence, with a clean, restrained form that integrates harmoniously into its natural surroundings. Constructed from cross-laminated timber (CLT), the building reflects a commitment to sustainability while also offering warm, tactile interiors that echo the calm of the landscape. The use of this material not only ensures a low environmental footprint but also lends the spaces a natural softness and intimacy. The project aims to create a contemporary refuge—modest in scale yet rich in atmosphere—where natural materials, refined proportions, and the rhythm of the forest come together to support a slower, more grounded way of living.
